- Minimum Education: applicants must have an education level that is equal to Canadian high school.
Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS): this is an application management system used for ranking the profiles of candidates within the Express Entry pool based on human capital factors such as age, education, work experience and language proficiency.
How does Express Entry work?
Interested candidates can create their own Express Entry profile and are ranked against other applicants. Once in awhile, the candidates with maximum score get an invitation to apply for permanent residence through ITA (invitation to apply). If they receive an ITA, they have 60 days to submit their application and quickly becoming a resident of Canada once the changes come into effect.

Main Language Proficiency (up to 24 points): points are awarded based on your skill level across four areas (speaking, reading, writing and listening) in either English or French. Higher proficiency levels can earn you more points, up to the 24-point maximum.
Second Language Proficiency (up to 4 points): if you can demonstrate basic or higher proficiency in Canada’s other official language, you may gain up to 4 extra points for a total language score potential of 28 points.
Work Experience (up to a maximum): points are awarded based on your years of full-time work experience. The maximum points apply for candidates with six or more years of experience.
Age: it gives the maximum of points to applicants between 18-35 years with partial deduction for age beyond that.
Adaptability: more points are given to applicants who have work or study experience in Canada, family members living there and a job offer. An interview with all the primary candidates may be used often as well that can affect their chances of getting through by giving them additional points towards their CRS score.
